Hi, just found the site was running (I've been waiting since BirdFair!). Why not add reserves to the list of places the system will recognise? Or allow people to add lists of birds to a single location without having to start again from scratch for every bird?

Hi Kiteman, thanks for this idea, a few other people have requested the ability to upload multiple sightings to one location and we will put it on the to do list. We recognise that it would save time and effort so worth doing. By the way we will be emailing everyone who signed up to the holding page and who we met at Birdfair next week to tell them officially about the site launch, and to announce the winner of the Swarovski binocular.

Hi there, just to back up the comments about being able to add sites yourself or for reserves to already included. I wanted to report my sigtings from the RSPBs Frampton Marsh but the nearest the site was for a few miles away. Am enjoying the site by the way, seems really good.

Hi Gavin, yes we need to add in bird reserves into the database of locations (gazetter). Really pleased to hear you like the site. We think the more it is used the better it will get, so please tell your friends to give it a go too. Lots for us to work on to get it perfect and we are loving the challenge!

Hi ya,great site.first time doing something like this,(just mastered switching on p,c) Just a wee point . i notice when reporting bird sightings for my area(sion mills) my location is not recognized. Is there something i,m not doing?

Hi Chickenhawk, great you like the site. There are some locations which are not found, we know, such as Isle of Man and Channel Islands and we are working on adding those. But I've just looked for Sion Mills and it is recognised on the map. Try entering it into the location for local patch or sighting report and press the search button. You should then see the point on the map automatically move to Sion Mills (Sion Mills, Strabane, Northern Ireland, United Kingdom).

The site map does not recognise anywhere on the Isle of Man. How can I report my sightings please? First swallow of the year this morning!
