Who ever thought you'd see birds as tropical in appearance as this in grey, grimy London? But every summer, flocks of them in Hyde Park...

A colony on Hampstead Heath too, found by Kenwood house and down by South Hampstead ponds. They were there in December so not just summer visitors.

Also common near me, in Gunnersbury Park and Walpole Park West London. I've seen them recently in Kew Gardens, too. Lovely.
