What do you think this site is missing, what doesn't work, or what could be done better? Let us know and we'll try and fix it for you.

Can you refine the bird search facility? If you enter, for example, yellow crowned night heron it lists all birds with yellow in name -several hundred. Adding a + sign doesn't seem to help. Although the search term is very specific this doesn't seem to be recognised. Users are unlikely to sift through dozens of names and fields when they have entered a specific name.

I would like a feature where I can keep and life and year list as the current checklist system only ticks off what I have reported as sightings

Simmojunior by reporting a sighting you share it with everyone else, so it's worth doing, since others may be interested in that species or in birds seen in your area. But I think what you want is the ability to create your own checklists without having to report them as a sighting?

Hey, the bird search facility is very complicated and always comes up with a huge amount of birds even if you put in a specific name for example i was searching black cap and over 100 results came up. Alos is is far to complicated for what it is and it should b simplified. A birds buy country map would b good where u can just click on the country then get a search and a A-Z opption. Thank you

Maggie thanks for those comments on picture process and for your understanding. We will look at this. Darkpeakbirder we had limited cover over Easter sorry - pics now live. And as promised elsewhere a timeline for fixes will be forthcoming next week.

I really don't get your sightings numbers. All these numbers actually record, is the number of times we enter something on the website. Wouldn't it be more useful to record the number of different species seen by each member? This could be done by month, year and lifetime and, in my opinion would be much more representative of what people are seeing. As things stand, I could spend all day reporting my sightings of Blue Tit in my garden and end up with a monthly sightings figure of maybe 600 and a yearly one of, say, 7200 - this is really a meaningless figure to show that Blue Tits often frequent my garden. The basic site is good and seems to work well, although as already pointed out it is cumbersome to report birds seen at the same site and I wonder if it really matters whether we saw the birds at 9.28 or 9.29? It would be useful to be able to search members photos by species and by families - this would help when trying to identify birds that have been seen. All of the above is intended as constructed criticism and areas that I consider would appeal to a great many bird enthusiasts. Keep up the good work, -Mark

Also it would be useful for forum pages to show the latest post at the top of the page rather than at the bottom
