Burrito común (Arg), Pinto-d'água-comum (Br), Bunito silbón (Bol), Bunito de patas verdes (Uru).

Green bill, olive-green legs. Head olive, brown, lores grey. Ear-patches, sides of the neck and breast reddish. Hind neck and back olive-brown, rump and tail darker. Throat and underparts white, flanks heavily barred with black. Reddish undertail and brown wings.

A duet, each bird singing alternate notes of a rapid descending trill.
